10,000 Friends Of PA Accepts Nominations For 2015 Commonwealth Awards

10,000 Friends of Pennsylvania are now accepting nominations for the 2015 Commonwealth Awards to honor and celebrate great development projects and the people who make them happen utilizing best practices creating great walkable, sustainable, equitable, healthy communities.
The deadline for nominations is August 24.
In recent years 10,000 Friends has recognized an array of great projects, including mixed-use, residential, commercial, industrial, public infrastructure, recreational/ green space, schools and other community institutions, and municipal planning projects.
As always, a panel of jurors from across a range of relevant professional disciplines will be enlisted to judge this year's project submissions.  The panel will review projects utilizing metrics based on sound land use, smart transportation, and smart growth principles.
The Commonwealth Awards help 10,000 Friends continue to put smart land use, smart design, and smart growth in the spotlight.
Through these Awards, 10,000 Friends aims to raise awareness of projects that successfully demonstrate sound land use principles around the Commonwealth - projects that are development or redevelopment or infrastructure; in settings from urban to suburban to rural.
