Appalachian Audubon Offering Student/Teacher Scholarships For Summer Birding Studies

The Appalachian Audubon Society announced this week it will fund two scholarships, one for a student and a second for an educator, to Hog Island Maine this summer.
The first is a scholarship to the Hog Island "Coastal Bird Studies for Teens" camp the week of June 17-22.  This scholarship has a value of $995 and will cover the full cost of registration for the camp.
The second is a $500 (partial) scholarship to the Hog Island "Sharing Nature:  An Educator's Week" camp, which takes place July 19-24.
For both scholarships, the successful candidate must provide his/her own transportation to and from the Audubon dock in Bremen, Maine, at the start and end of the session and cover any other costs.
To be considered, the appropriate application must be completed and returned via email to Arlene Buchholz, AAS Education Chair, at abvetlab@yahoo.com.  Candidates will be notified within a few days of the application deadline.  Any questions should also be direct to Arlene by email or call 808-779-5200.
